A Letter from Fr. Jim to St. Paul Parishioners

Saint Paul School Lease Agreement

My dear friends in Christ,

I have some good news that I am thrilled to share with all of you.  A few days ago, St. Paul received a signed lease for the rental of the St. Paul School building from The Goddard School, an organization offering early childhood care and preschool.  This lease is for fifteen years, with two optional five year extensions.

The Goddard School organization is planning extensive renovations to the building, including an elevator and a new HVAC system that features central air.  They are prepared to put up to $3.5 million in renovations to the school building, which St. Paul’s Parish will still own. We will begin receiving rent revenue from The Goddard School in early 2021.  This significant stream of income will be a great boost to our overall financial picture and, along with your most generous support of our parish, will position us to continue and advance our mission now and into the future.

The first and by far most difficult part of this process has been agreeing on terms and signing the lease.  The Goddard School must now obtain the necessary construction financing as well as the necessary permits from the Town of Wellesley.  We will keep you informed as the process continues.

I would like to thank the Finance Council for all of their advice and assistance during this lengthy process.  The monies that we will receive from the rental of St. Paul School will allow us to make some very necessary repairs to our other buildings and continue our mission for generations to come.

And thank YOU!  YOU are what make St. Paul’s the beautiful spiritual home that it is and it is my joy and privilege to be your pastor.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Jim
